Max E. Phillips, 73, of Mancelona, died Sat, Aug 19, 1995, at his residence.
Mr. Phillips moved to Kalkaska County in 1977 from Grand Rapids. Prior to his retirement he was employed as a die cast operator for Midland-Ross Company in Grand Rapids. He was an Army and Air Force Veteran of WWII and at the time of his death was vice president of the Kalkaska Area Model Pilots Club.
Mr. Phillips was born in Kendallville, IN, on Sep 4, 1921, to Albert and Dorcas Becker Phillips. On Jun 19, 1952, in Toledo, OH, he married Elizabeth Anne Feely who survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Joanne Kay Sherwood of Grand Rapids; one brother, Kenneth Phillips of Kalkaska; one sister, June Phillips of Kendallville, IN; and several cousins.
Funeral services were held Mon, Aug 21, 1995, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Rev. Charles VanLente, pastor of the Kalkaska United Methodist Church officiated. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
