Maurice C. Hillman, 84, of Kalkaska, passed away on Feb 13, 2009, at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center - LTC. He was born on Oct 4, 1924, in Whittemore, the son of the late Jacob and Carrie (Lane) Hillman.
Maurice served his country proudly in the US Navy during WWII. On Feb 26, 1949, Maurice married Donna L Haines in Pontiac. Together they raised four wonderful children.
He was a member of the St Mary of the Woods Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, VFW Post 8684 and American Legion Post 0840.
Maurice loved hunting, fishing, flying, and electronics. He was a devoted family man and loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Maurice is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Donna; his children, Geraldine (Eldred) DeMars of Kalkaska, Patricia (Don) Lunsford of Travere City, Kenneth (Jenny) Hillman of Kalkaska, and Gregory (Betty) Hillman of Kalkaska; his siblings, Elwin (Audrey) Hillman of mancelona and Onalee (Richard) Issac of Rome City, IN; 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Maurice was preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia and two brothers, Wallace Hillman and Delbert Hillman.
Visitation was Mon, Feb 16 from 5 to 8 pm at Wolfe-O'Neill Funeral Home, with a scripture service at 7 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial was Tue at 11 am at St Mary of the Woods Catholic Church.
