Mrs. Maude Coder, 97, of Kalkaska, died Sun, Feb 13, 1994 at the Kalkaska Memorial Health Center.
Mrs. Coder had been a resident of Kalkaska since February of 1972, having moved from Madison, WI. She enjoyed reading, doing handwork, and playing bridge. She volunteered her time at the library and the historical society.
Born on Mar 5, 1896, in Phillipsburg, PA, she was the daughter of George and Jenny Swisher Shunkweiler. On Nov 24, 1912, in Patton, PA she was married to Don Coder, who died Dec 21, 1960.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Al (Phyllis) Fryer of Lake City, FL; one son, Richard (Opal) Coder of Enid, OK; one sister, Lyla Wright of Mansfield, OH, seven grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 4 pm, Sun May 29, 1994, at The Peoples Church, Kalkaska. Rev. Paul Karges will officiate.
