Mary Lou (Lossing) LaMay, 55, of Clio, died Fri, Jan 28, 2000 at her residence.
Mrs. LaMay wasborn in Detroit on May 31, 1944, the daughter of Andrew H and Esther (Hall) Lossing. She was a wonderful daughter and an outstanding student, graduating with honors from Kalkaska High School. She continued on as a high achiever at Ferris State College and graduated in 1964. She grew up in Kalkaska with her sister Anna Marie (Lossing) Barnes and her mother; her father died in a factory explosion on May 11, 1944. She was united in marriage to David L LaMay at Peoples Chruch in Kalkaska. To this union was born Corrine LaMay Birchmeier and Andrew David LaMay.
Mrs. LaMay was employed by GMAC in Flint in 1967 and was there 20 years; in 1987 she transferred to GMAC in Saginaw for her remaining 10 years of employment. In both branches she acquired many treasured and loving friends. During this time, they owned several businesses. From 1972 until 1987 they operated LaMay's Trucking and Excavating. In Jun 1987, they purchased Ashers Auto Salvage in Saginaw, which ontinues to be operated by David and their son Andrew.
She also has many dear and loving friends in her church family from the New Covenant Methodist church in Clio.
Mary Lou retired from GMAC in 1997 and was looking forward to quality time with her family. From retirement to death she fought a losing battle with cancer. She never lost her faith in God and lived out her life with grace and dignity, always thinking of her family and their well-being.
She leaves to mourn her loss husband David; children Corinne Birchmeier and Andrew D; grandson Brett; mother Esther Lossing; sister Anna Marie Barnes; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
She and her husband resided in Clio, where she remained until God took her home to heaven. She will long be remembered as a gracious and loving wife, mother, and daughter. When you look into the night sky, think of her as a bright and shining light in heaven.
Funeral services were Jan 31 at New Covenant Free Methodist Church in Clio; Dr. Dale Woods officiated. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery in Clio.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the New Covenant Free Methodist Church Building Fund.
