Mary Lillian Lamb, 93, of Traverse City, passed peacefully on to heaven on Wed, Jan 22, 2020. Mary was born the daughter of Harry and Emma (Monroe) Gould in Marion on Dec 8, 1926.
She married Robert N. Lamb on Oct 22, 1948 in Bay City, and they enjoyed 68 years of marriage. Together they lovingly raised one son, Elden.
Mary loved her family and many close friends, including her lifelong friends on Silver Lake and, more recently, her friends at The Village of Bay Ridge.
Although a non-swimmer, she loved the waters of Silver Lake and drove the boat for many a water skier. This enjoyment of water was passed on to her two granddaughters who spent many weekends splashing, laughing, and water skiing on Silver Lake.
Mary was a revered baker whose specialties included her highly sought after but never duplicated cinnamon rolls, coconut cream pies and cookies of many kinds.
She took great pride in working at and retiring from Chef Pierre (Sara Lee - Hillshire) in Traverse City, where she helped create and pack delicious pies. During Elden's youth seh spent many a summer in the cherry orchards picking from the top of tall cherry trees while Elden and other kids "cherry-picked" the low hanging fruit.
For 15 years Mary and bob spent their winters in Chino Valley, AZ, enjoying plentiful sunshine, bus excursions, and scenic flights with other adventure seeking retirees.
In heaven, Mary joins Bob and her daughter in law, Shari Lamb; and additional family members and friends.
Until reunited in heaven, Mary leaves behind her son, Elden; and granddaughters, Shaina Tavares (Mark) and Shelby Lamb (Tyler Huizenga).
