Mrs. Mary K. Scherf, 56, of Mancelona, died Thursday morning, May 19, 1994, at Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey.
Mrs. Scherf resided in Marblehead, OH until 10 years ago when she moved to Kalkaska County. She enjoyed bingo and crafts, and was a member of the Eagles and V.F.W. and American Legion Auxiliaries.
Born in Fremont, OH on Apr 23, 1938, she was the daughter of Darrell and Katherine Paulus Rowe. On Sep 9, 1967, in Vickery, OH, she was married to LaVern A. Scherf who survives.
Besides her husband, she is survived by four sons, LaVern E. of Albuquerque, NM ,Patrick G. of Wichita, KS, Thomas L. of Las Vegas, NV, and Frank K. of Phoenix, AZ; three daughters, Norma Chase of Ontario, and Nancy Martin and Jeanne Scherf both of Albuquerque, NM; her father, Darrell Rowe of Sandusky, OH; two aunts, Alice Wilder and Ruth Marshke both of Fremont, OH; and several grandchildren.
Two sons, Dennis and Michael, preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held Saturday at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. E. Dan Johnson officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Kalkaska.
