Mary J Kuhns, 79, of Kalkaska, died Dec 20, 2000, at her home.
Mrs. Kuhns resided in Fife Lake until three years ago when she moved to Kalkaska to make her home with her son and family. She was an antique dealer for many years, and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and affiliated with the Fife Lake United Methodist Church.
She was born in Ashley Dec 14, 1921, to James and Mary Knotek Loznak. She married Gale Kuhns in Banister Feb 1, 1941. He preceded her in death Feb 16, 1974.
Surviving are sons Ernest (Sue) Kuhns of Kalkaska and Wayne Kuhns of Corpus Christi, TX; brothers Ed Loznak of Maple City and John Loznak of Owosso; sisters, Mildred Bakita and Dorothy Signs, both of St Johns, and Frances Clemens of Grand Rapids; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Sons David and Kenny; daughter Barbara; and brothers Stanley, Fritz, and Chuck preceded her in death.
Funeral services were Dec 23 at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska; Rev. Howard Seaver officiated. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Kalkaska.
