Mary E. Kitchen, 72, of Mancelona, died Sun, Mar 25, 2001, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
She was born in St Clair County on Jan 5, 1929, the daughter of George and Laura Zimmerman Riedel. On Sep 5, 1953, in Richmond, she married Theodore W. Kitchen Jr.
Mrs. Kitchen resided in Wayne until 29 years ago when she moved to Kalkaska County. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a secretary for Shell Pipeline. She was a member of the M-72 Church of Christ and a World Bible School Teacher.
Surviving are her husband, Theodore (Ted), daughter, Barbara (Jim) Helfrich of Traverse City; sisters, Doris Schuler of Cheboygan, Ruth Bobula of Camp Hill, PA, Joyce Dean of Capac, and Donna Gardella of Macomb; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Norman, and her sister, Esther.
Funeral services were held Mar 28 at Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska, Larry Brown, pastor of the M-72 Church of Christ, officiated. Burial was in Coldsprings Township Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
