Mary Elizabeth Smith, 71, of Kalkaska passed away on Apr 27, 2005, at the Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
Born on Jul 22, 1933, in Kalkaska, she was the daughter of Albert and Eadvega (Buragas) Brown.
Mary married John J Smith on Jun 8, 1957, in Kalkaska. She was a resident of Kalkaska her entire life. Mary enjoyed being with her family and friends. Her hobbies included gardening and taking long walks in the "great outdoors."
Mary is survived by her husband, John, of 47 years; children, John David Smith of Kalkaska, Dana Reed Smith of Kalkaska, Joseph Andrew Smith of South Boardman, and Valerie Jean (Shane) Young of Sparta; grandchildren, Mary Lee Young of Sparta, Travis Verastegui of Austin, TX, Veronica Jane Smith of Kalkaska; great granddaughter, Naomi Young of Sparta; brothers, Allan S (Diana) Brown of Kalkaska, and James T. Brown of Wolverine.
Mary was preceded in death by her brothers, Albert Kingsley Brown, Joseph Francis Brown, and John Caver Brown.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be announced in June.
