Mrs. Mary Birgy Lund, 93, of Thief River Falls, MN, died Tue, Jul 4, 1995, at Northern Itasca Health Care Center in Big Ford, MN.
Mrs. Birgy had resided in Minnesota since 1937. She was a member of the Methodist Church and the Lady Trainmen.
Born in Chicago, IL on Jan 27, 1902, she was the daughter of Joseph and Katherine Wagner Birgy. On May 31, 1922, in Traverse City, she married Louis Lund who preceded her in death on Oct 28, 1982.
Surviving are one son, Derwood (and wife, Phyllis) Lund of Effie, MN; two brothers, Derwood Birgy and Otto Birgy both of Fife Lake; one sister, Ruth Beckering of Fife Lake; one grandson Mark Lund of Minneapolis, MN; one granddaughter, Mrs. Bert (Nancy) Crane of Ely, MN; and two great grandchildren, Phyllis and John Crane.
One daughter, Marie, one step daughter, Cleo Hunt, and six brothers, preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held Sat, Jul 8, 1995, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Rev. Charles VanLente, pastor of the Kalkaska United Methodist Church, officiated. Burial was in Garfield Township Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
