Mary Shippey
Mary Anne Shippey of 654 Pinetree St., Lake Orion was reported dead May 5, 1980 at the age of 48.
Mrs. Shippey is survived by her children, David and Randy of Oxford, John D. Shippey of South Boardman, Albert Jr., Herbert and Vera Bailey of Dryden.
She is also survived by her sisters, Josephine Myers of Miami, Florida, Clara Miller of South Boardman and her brother, Robert Swain of Oxford.
Mrs. Shippey was the wife of the late Albert Shippey.
She had lived all her life in the Lake Orion area and was a secretary for Dean Brothers of Pontiac.
Memorial services were Thursday evening, May 8, at the Bossardet Funeral Home in Oxford.
The funeral was held Saturday morning, May 10 [1980], at the funeral home and burial took place at Square Lake Cemetery in Lake Orion with the Rev. Fred Applegate officiating.

Mary Shippey
Services were held Saturday [May 10, 1980] for Mrs. Mary Anne Shippey, 48, of 654 Pinetree, Lake Orion.
Mrs. Shippey had been missing since January. Her body and that of a companion were recovered from a submerged car in Round Lake, Oxford, on May 5, when a fisherman sighted an oil slick in the lake. Police believe the couple drove onto the ice and drowned when their car broke through.
Mrs. Shippey, a lifelong resident of Lake Orion, was the widow of Albert Shippey. She was born March 15, 1932, in Orion Twp., the daughter of the late Ray Swain and Mrs. Lena Miller of Oxford.
She is survived by 5 sons, John D. of South Boardman, MI, David and Randy of Oxford, Albert Jr. and Herbert of Dryden; a daughter, Mrs. Vera Bailey of Dryden; 2 sisters, Mrs. Josephine Myers of Miami, FL, and Mrs. Clara Miller of South Boardman; and a brother, Robert Swain of Oxford.
The Rev. Fred Applegate of Mt. Zion General Baptist conducted services at the Bossardet Funeral Home. Burial was in Square Lake Cemetery in Lake Orion.
