Mary Ann Meek of Troy died peacefully Jan 9, 2020. She was 83 years old. Mary Ann was born Dec 23, 1936 in Pontiac to Winnifred (nee O’Leary) and Paul Portrey.
Raised in Rose City, MI, she enjoyed the family home for nearly 50 years. Along with her husband Wayne, she was a proud business owner of LaSalle Thread Grinding, Inc. in Madison Heights since 1978. She loved cheering on her grandchildren and great grandchildren at their sporting events. Her flowers and her gardens were her pride and joy. She enjoyed boating, jigsaw puzzles, traveling, Wheel of Fortune, cleaning, and the slot machines at the casinos. She lived a full and blessed life, was deeply loved, and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Wayne Meek and children, Debbie Rey, David Conners, Wayne Meek Jr, Kelli (Dave) Meek, and Mark (Jeanne). She is also survived by Wayne’s son, Steve (Lynne) Meek, siblings, Leonard (the late Lottie Mae) and Anna Marie (the late Gerald) Miller, 16 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. MaryAnn was preceded in death by her brother, Lawrence.
A Funeral Service will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Rd (between 14-15 Mile Rds), Mon, Jan 13 at 11 am. Friends may visit Sun, Jan 12, 3 to 8 pm and Monday beginning at 10:30 am. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Twp.
