Mary A. Newmarch, 77, Kingsley, died on Sun at Munson Medical Center.
Born May 16, 1922 in Kingsley she was the daughter of Henry and Mable (Church) Hency. On Jun 7, 1939, in Traverse City, she married Harold L. Newmarch. A lifelong Kingsley resident, she was a homemaker. She also was a member of Kingsley United Methodist Church, the North Paradise Flower club, the UAW Retirees in Traverse City and Kingsley and also was a former 4-H leader. She was an excellent seamstress, an avid gardener and also enjoyed hunting.
She is survived by her husband, Harold of Kingsley; five daughters, Eleanora (Dale) Strange, Joan (Russell) Willingham, Juanita (Robert) King, and Sharon (Terry) Case, all of Kingsley, and Marion (Donald) Peplinski of Maple City; a son, Daniel (Amy) Newmarch of Cedar Springs; 19 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren; two sisters, Doris (Frank) Rawlings of Kingsley and Norma (Brent) Walton of Traverse City; a brother, Alva Hency of New Mexico; a great aunt, Muriel Church; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Gerald Hency; and a great grandson.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm on Tue at Covell-Smith Funeral Home in Kingsley, and also from 1 pm until the time of service on Wed at Kingsley United Methodist Church, where a “Celebration of Life” service will be held at 2pm. The Rev. Char Minger will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
