Mary A Martinson, 90, of South Boardman passed away peacefully on Nov 9, 2005, at the Kalkaska Memorial Health Center surrounded by her family.
Born on Jul 7, 1915, in Frederic, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Caroline (Reed) Kimball.
Mary married Martin Martinson on Apr 20, 1937, in Kalkaska. She was alifelong resident of Kalkaska County. She enjoyed gardening, baking, canning, making homemade bread, buns, and cinnamon rolls, and especially spending time with her grandchildren and her dog, Sandy.
Mary was a member of the East Boardman United Methodist Church.
Surviving Mary are her children, Martin L (Thelma S.) Martinson of Traverse City, Harold O. (Dorothy) Martinson of South Boardman, Caroline A. (Larry L) Barnhill of Cedar Springs, Calvin L Martinson of Stonewall, LA, and George P (Betty A) Martinson of South Boardman; 20 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; brother, Lawerance (Beverly) Kimball of Mesick; sister, Ethel Fowler of Traverse City; and sister in law, Myrtle Yoder of Rapid City.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Martin; and daughter, Evelyn M Martinson.
The visitation will be on Fri, Nov 11, from 6 to 8 pm at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. The funeral service will be on Sat, Nov 12 at 2 pm at the funeral home, with the Rev. Howard Seaver from the East Boardman United Methodist Church officiating. The burial will be at Boardman Township Cemetery.
