Mark Korson, father of five, grandfather of one, passed away suddenly on Sat, Jan 11, 2020 at the age of 59.
Mark was born on May 14, 1960 in Traverse City, to Raymond and Dorothy (Popp) Korson.
He attended school in Elk Rapids, where he graduated and went on to become a master fabricator by trade. He worked as the welding shop supervisor at Team Elmer's for the last 13 years.
On Oct 13, 1990, he married Paula Jean Guston. Mark and Paula were a match made in heaven sent down to share their love with everyone they came across. Together they had five boys, Juston, Ethan (fiancee Monica), Logan, Dylan, and Quentin, who all grew up into such fine men.
Mark had a passion for the outdoors. He was a skilled hunter, avid camper and four wheeler. He enjoyed reading westerns, pig roasts and spending Sunday afternoons watching NASCAR. Most of all he loved his amazing family.
He was a bear of a man with the strength of a lion and heart of a lamb.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Paula; his father, Ray Korson; and his sister, Betty Send. He is survived by his five sons; his granddaughter, Kadence; brother, Matt (Mary) Korson; sister, Angela (David) Siegrist; sister, Raymona Korson; sister, Bonnie (Phil) Babcock; sister, Deborah (Neal) Shelagowski; brother, Luke (Eva) Korson; cousin, Denise Groesser; his significant other, Wendy Craft; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
Visitation will be held on Thu, Jan 16 from 4 to 8 pm with a rosary recited at 7 pm.
Funeral services will be held on Fri, Jan 17 at 11 am, with a brief visitation at 10 am. The Rev. Raymond Cotter will officiate.
All services well be held at Christ the King Catholic Church, 3801 Shore Rd, Williamsburg, MI 49690.
