Mrs. Marjorie E. Deater, 65, of Kalkaska died Tue, Mar 30, 1993, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
Mrs. Deater moved to Kalkaska County in 1987, from Jeddo, following her retirement from Riverside Metal Products in Port Huron. She was a member of the Kalkaska United Methodist Church, the Jeddo Wednesday Night Women's Club, and the Coldsprings-Excelsior Taxpayers Association. she enjoyed doing many crafts.
Mrs. Deater was born in Mancelona on Feb 12, 1928, to Paul and Beatrice Brewer Shepperly. On Dec 24, 1946, in Blaine, she was married to Clifford Deater who survives.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, William and wife, Susannah Deater and Robert and wife Gloria Deater both of Jeddo; one daughter, Mrs. Joe (Sandra) Pinnelli of Windsor, Ont; her mother, Beatrice Shepperly of Mancelona; two brothers, Herman Shepperly of Florida and Roger Shepperly of Mancelona; five grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
One brother, Richard Shepperly and one sister, Betty Hughey, preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held Fri, Apr 2, 1993 at the Kalkaska United Methodist Church.
Rev. Dick Riley officiated. Burial was in Coldsprings Township Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to Kalkaska United Methodist Church or the Coldsprings-Excelsior Fire Department in lieu of flowers.
