Marjorie A. Hayward, 88, died Saturday, February 27, 2016, at the Autumn Joy A.F.C. and Assisted Living Hoe in Charlevoix, Michigan.
She was born on May 24, 1927 in Marlette, Michigan, the daughter of Clarence and Alice (Stamp) Harris.
Marjorie married Milford L. Hayward on July 27, 1946, in Pontiac. They lived in Pontiac until they moved to East Jordon in 1997. Milford preceded her in death on March 4, 2005. She later moved to her new home at Autumn Joy A.F.C. in Charlevoix.
Shel oved people and enjoyed neighboring with folks. Marjorie also enjoyed camping at the Old Orchard Park in Oscoda, attending church camp meetings in Brown City, crocheting and cooking.
Marjorie loved her Lord and attended the Charlevoix Church of Nazarene.
She is survived by her daughter, Ellen “Ellie” Hisey of Charlevoix; sons, Rodney (Ruby) Hayward of Charlevoix, and Gary (Marti) Hayward of Auburn Hills; grandchildren, Wayne Eubanks, Mike (Lisa) Armes, Debra (Chad) Minton; great grandchildren, Brandon, Jaimee, Bradley, Laurel, Kyra, Jack, Elaina, and Andrew; and three sisters-in-law, Ida Mae Harris of Midland, Eunice Hayward Baker, Holiday, Florida, and Shirley (Bob) Hayward-Jimmerson of Tarpon Springs, Florida. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Basil, Donald and Lee, and one sister, Helen Cook.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2016, at 4:00 P.M. at the Winchester Funeral Home in Charlevoix. Rev. Dan Gilmore, of the Charlevoix Church of Nazarene, will officiate. Interment will be in Marlette Cemetery, Marlette, Michigan.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Winchester Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Autumn Joy A.F.C. and Assisted Living Home, 09020 Upper Bayshore Road, Charlevoix, MI 49720.
