Marita P. Black, of St. Johns, died Nov 12, 1997, at the age of 93. She was born Sep 6, 1904, to John and Alice (Keiser) Zigler, and lived in St. Johns most of her life. She was a member of the Greenbush United Methodist Church. Blue Star Mothers, O.E.S. #79, and the Clinton County Extension.
Mrs. Black married George "Sam" Black Sep 6, 1923 and he preceded her in death on Oct 21, 1974.
She is survived by daughters Virginia Zigler of Kalkaska and Nancy (Leonard) Puetz of St. Johns, eight grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, George Black.
Memorial services will be held 11 am Fri, Nov 28; at the First United Methodist Church in St. Johns with Pastor Steve Weinberger officiating. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to Hazel I Findlay Country Manor.
