Marion R. Jones, 85, of Rapid City, died Tue, Jan 31, 1995, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
Mr. Jones moved to Kalkaska County five months ago from Toledo, OH. He was a member of Advent Lutheran Church in Sylvania, OH, and attended St. Paul Lutheran Church in Kalkaska. He retired from the railroad in 1974. His interests included animals, his family, playing the piano, organ, and violin, flowers, genealogy, crossword puzzles, and the computer.
Born in Delaware County, OH, on Jul 6, 1909, he was the son of the late William and Verna Robeson Jones. He married Martha Rothlisberger on May 28, 1931, in Toledo, OH. She preceded him in death on Jun 13, 1988.
Surviving are three sons, Dale O. (Betty) Jones of Pittsburgh, PA, and Loren A. (Pat) Jones and Howard M. (Pat) Jones both of Monclova, OH; one daughter, Mrs. Roland (Lorraine) Lund of Kalkaska; one brother; five sisters; nine grandchildren; one great granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two infant brothers.
Funeral services were held Fri, Feb 3, 1995, at Reeb Funeral Home in Sylvania, OH. Rev. Dennis Lehman officiated. Burial was in Toledo Memorial Park, Sylvania, OH.
