In memory of Marion Charles Goodwin, 85, of Traverse City, born Dec 15, 1914 in Branch County. He passed away with his wife by his side on Jul 19, 2000, in Traverse City.
Mr. Goodwin served in the U.S. Armed Forces from Jan 1, 1941 to Jul 4, 1945. His unit Company "C" 7th Engineers, 5th Division was attached to Patton's 3rd Army. Here he was awarded a Purple Heart for wounds received during this service.
Marion marred Ella B Hall on Apr 18, 1942 in Coldwater. Besides his widow he leaves behind daughter Marlene Wilcoy of Traverse City and son Wayne (Vicki) Goodwin of Kalkaska.
He was preceded in death by sons Donald C and Dennis D Goodwin.
Marion will be greatly missed by his seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
during his retirement, Marion and his wife resided at their cottage on Lake Superior at Whitefish Pointe. Here he found great pleasure in observing the activities of the waterways. Both he and his wife volunteered at Pointe Iroquois Lighthouse.

Graveside services were Fri, Jul 21 at Evergreen Cemetery in Kalkaska; Fr Jim Holtz officiated.
