Marilee H. Bedard, age 86, of Fife Lake, formerly of Troy, passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2011 at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center - L.T.C. She was born on July 10, 1924 in Lakeview to the late John and Ilau (Morton) Matice.
Marilee married Francis L. Bedard on August 9, 1947. They raised their 4 daughters in Troy before moving to Fife Lake in 1976. While living in Troy, Marilee was very active with the Troy Library helping to raise funds for the library.
She was an avid gardener and enjoyed golfing, traveling, and knitting. Marilee loved the water and swimming with her grandchildren. She was member of the St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Fife Lake.
Marilee is survived by her devoted daughters, Judith Bedard of Marquette, Jill Bedard of Fife Lake, Patricia (Tom) Bowen of Nobelsville, IN, and Annette (Scott) Mosher of Traverse City; her 7 cherished grandchildren; her 8 precious great-grandchildren; and her dear brother, Bud (Marie) Matice of Birmingham.
Marilee was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Francis, who passed away in December of 2007; and her dear sister Dawn Hoerauf.
A memorial service honoring Marilee will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Aloysius Catholic Church with visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Reverend Norman Dickson, S.J. will be officiating. Burial will be in St. Aloysius Cemetery.
