Mrs. Marie L. Straughen, 34, of Kalkaska, died Sat, Oct 31, 1992, in Flint.
Mrs. Straughen moved to Kalkaska 22 years ago from Wisconsin. She was a 1976 graduate of Kalkaska High School, and a member of the Harvest Time Church of God.
She was born in Green Bay, WI on Sep 16, 1958, daughter of Howard and Mary Lou Schmidt Emmert. On Apr 1, 1988, in Kalkaska, she was united in marriage with Donald G. Straughen who survives.
Besides her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Sonya Lynn Novak of Kalkaska; three step sons, Donald a. Straughen of Germany, David A Straughen of CA, and Douglas A Straughen of Kalkaska; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Emmert of MN; one brother, Grant (Lisa) Emmert of Roscommon; one sister, Mrs. Doug (Sherrie) Finch of Mancelona; one foster sister, Lynn Miller of Midland; one grandson, Donald A. Straughen of Germany; and 23 nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Thu, Nov 5, 1992 at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Rev. Fred Coates officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Kalkaska.
