Marian Ruth Turpen was born Feb 24, 1918 in Bedford, IN.
She died peacefully at home in South Boardman on Thu, Apr 22, 2004.
Marianne, as she preferred to be called, enjoyed climbing, caves, flowers, crocheting, playing cards and bingo, as well as reading, country music and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Arthur G Steele in 1919 and her husband, Herman F Turpen in 1980.
She is survived by her daughter, Alice R Turpen, of South Boardman; son David S Turpen and wife Rita V Broilo of Dearborn; grandchildren, Sally A Huffman and beau, Nicholas J Hiller of Kalkaska, Susan A Miller and husband, Luke O Miller of South Boardman, Theresa M Turpen, Carolyn R Turpen and Joseph Turpen of Dearborn; great grandchildren Holly Huffman, James D Huffman Jr and Nicholas J Hiller II, all of Kalkaska, Bridget M Miller and Robert M S. Miller of South Boardman, and Abid and Brandon Turpen of Dearborn.
A memorial service is scheduled for Sun, May 9, and 1 pm at St Mary of the Woods in Kalkaska. A lunch will be served immediately following at the Miller residence.
