Margaret R. Brand, 83, of Alden. passed away Oct. 24. 2002. at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. She was born Oct. 2,1919, in Knobnoster, Mo., the daughter of Jonas and Ruth (Miller) Gregg.
Margaret married Waldon C. Brand Oct. 15. 1953, in Independence, Mo. She and Waldon lived in the Alden and Mancelona area for the past 15 years. Margaret was the past treasurer of Rapid River Township and a member of the Pedro Club. She enjoyed playing the piano and made quilts especially for all her grandchildren.
Margaret is survived by her loving husband. Waldon, of 49 years; her son. Michael (Jean) Rhodes of Mesa, Ariz. and step-daughter Sheryl (Theron) Williams of Hillman; brothers Douglas Gregg of Aberdeen, Md. and William Gregg of Potomac, Md.; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Oct. 28, at Wolfe Funeral Home. Interment was at Westwood Cemetery in Rapid River Township.
Memorials may be given in behalf of Margaret R. Brand to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements were made by Wolfe Funeral Home, Kalkaska.
