Margaret "Anne" Custer, 68, passed away on Wed, Dec 7, 2011 at her home in Fife Lake. She was born on Jun 22, 1943 to the late Lawrence A. and Margaret A. (Lowe) Pelon.
Anne married George A. Custer in Jan 1966. Together they raised three wonderful children.
Anne received her Master's Degree from Central Michigan University. She retired from teaching at the Fife Lake Elementary School in 2003 after 23 years of dedicated service.
Anne was always active in her community. She served on different Garfield Township boards including the Planning and Zoning Board. As a member of the Garfield Township Historical Society, Anne helped establish the Garfield Township Historical Museum. Her passion and dedication to her family and community will be deeply missed.
Anne is survived by her devoted children, George A. Custer of Mancelona, Wayne A. Custer, of Fife Lake, and Margaret Marie (Rory) Densmore of Waldron; her cherished grandsons, Evan and Nick Brooks, both of Waldron; and her dear brother, Lawrence (Carrie) Pelon of Lowell.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her loving husband, George, who passed away in Mar of 1985.
Visitation for Anne was held Fri, Dec 10, 2011 from 2 to 8 pm at Wolfe-O'Neill Funeral Home. Funeral services were held on Sat at 1 pm at the funeral home with visitation taking place two hours prior to the service. Reverend Kimberland Hough officiated. Burial will be in Garfield Township Cemetery.
