Margaret L. Wood, 83, of North Muskegon, former resident of St. Ignace, died Sun, Oct 26, 1997, after a lingering illness in North Muskegon. She was born Jun 23, 1914 in Kalkaska to Clifford and Pearl Jackson. She married Maurice "Abe" Wood on Apr 20, 1935 in South Bend, IN. He died Aug 26, 1991. they lived in St. Ignace over 50 years. She was a Register of Probate and for the Crippled Children's Commission, and retired from the Department of Social Services as a case worker in St. Ignace. She was a past president of PTA, life member of Order of Eastern Stars, and a long-time faithful member of the St. Ignace United Methodist Church. She was also a member of United Methodist Women.
She is survived by daughter Maureen (Norman) Campbell of North Muskegon; son Roger (Tina) Wood of Mason; granddaughters Melinda Campbell of Evanston, IL, Wendy (Robert) Radaz of Alma, and Julia Wood of Mason; and a great grandson. Also a sister in law, Donna Jackson of Kalkaska and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at the United Methodist Church of St. Ignace with Rev. John Elliott officiating. Burial was in Oaklawn Chapel Gardens in Chippewa County.
