Margaret J Arnold, 86, of Blue Lake Township in Kalkaska County, died on Wed, May 10, 2006, at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility.
She was born on Jan 21, 1920, in Tovey, IL, the daughter of Elmer and Celila (Mason) Young.
As a young child she moved to Detroit with her widowed mother and brother.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Guy Arnold, an infant son, her parents, stepfather, and brother.
She is survived by her children, Geri (Tom) Karts of Grand Rapids, Dr. Guy L (Kathleen) Arnold of Mancelona, Geoff (Vivian) Arnold of Traverse City. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Andrea (Jeff) Hoffman, Julie (John) Zawacki, Julia (Kendall) Troyer, Matt Hayden and Meghan Arnold, six great grandchildren, and her sister in law, Crystal Young of CA.
Maggie, as she was known to family and friends was an intelligent and energetic woman, having served as a scout den mother, PTA president, CETA volunteer, loyal friend to many and much more.
Her loving nature, creative and giving spirit, and sense of humor are her legacies that will live on.
Funeral services were held on Mon, May 15, 2006, at the Mancelona Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes, Rev. Kathy Steen officiated.
Interment was in Fairview Cemetery in Mancelona.
