Margaret D. Lake, died Oct. 23, 1994 Traverse City, Margaret D. Lake, 75, of Traverse City, died Sunday at Munson Medical Center.
A homemaker, she was a resident of Traverse City most of her life. She was a 1969 graduate of Traverse City High School.
She was a very dedicated soldier at the Salvation Army for 60 years and was secretary of its Ladies Home League. She was a member of the divisional commission on planning and goals, the bad, and was a Sunday school teacher. She also was a member of Loners on Wheels.
She was a talented artist, being able to paint anything, and enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
The daughter of Howard G. and Flora (Moon) Annis, she was born April 20, 1919 in Grayling. On Feb. 1, 1936, in Traverse City, she married Frederick R. Lake, who died in 1986.
She also was preceded in death by a grandson, Rickie W. Welch in 1962.
Surviving are three sons, Therowin “Skip” and Elizabeth Lake of Williamsburg, Howard and Helen Lake of Traverse City and David and Sandra Lake of Williamsburg; a daughter Shirley and Ivan Welch of Williamsburg, a sister, Bonnie Lou Weber of Temerance; a brother, Russell Annis of Traverse City; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
