Mrs. Madonna A. (Bodrie) Donathan, 79, of Fife Lake, died Mon, Apr 12, 1999, at the Kalkaska Memorial Health Center. 

Mrs. Donathan resided in River Rouge until 1974, when she moved to Fife Lake. She was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church and the Altar Society. she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed her family, cooking, and reading. 

Born in Pinconning on Jun 27, 1919, she was the daughter of Fred and Adeline Deshaw Bodrie. On Nov 13, 1937, in Hannah, she married William Donathan, who preceded her in death on May 17, 1998. 

Surviving are sons William (Barbara) Donathan Jr. of River Rouge, Christopher (Renee) Donathan of Sterling Heights and Daniel (Teresa) Donathan of Kalkaska; daughters Ann Franklin of Columbus, Marilyn (Raymond) Hamel of Little Lake, Kathleen (Daniel) Hayden of Troy, Martha (Steve) Burke of River Rouge, Elizabeth (Jerry) Cannon of Fife lake and Jan (John) Babrick of South Boardman; sisters Alice Donathan of Fife Lake, Nelda Laginess of Southgate and Marcella Hatley of Mancelona; 39 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. 

Daughter Mary, son in law Everette Franklin, grandchildren Mark Hamel and Everette L Franklin, eight brothers and three sisters preceded her in death. 

Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Apr 15 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Fife Lake; Father Walter Derylo officiated. Burial was in St. Aloysius Cemetery. 

The Rosary was recited on Wednesday at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. 

Memorial gifts may be made to the Kalkaska Memorial Health Center Long-Term Care Unit or St. Aloysius Catholic Church.
