Madeline Marie Hutchins, 92, of Rock Island, TN (formerly of Lapeer), passed away peacefully May 31, 2017 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center, Cookeville, TN.
Madeline Marie Schwerin was born Apr 15, 1925, to John and Bertha (Ficsher) Schwerin of Arcadia Township. She married Harold “Red” Mack of Kings Mill. The moved to Lapeer and had three children.
Madeline married James Hutchins on Sep 12, 1980 and moved to Rock Island, TN in 1982. She was a homemaker, a member of Smyrna Church of Christ, an avid bowler, card player and baker. She retired from Suncrest Nursing Home in Lapeer, where she worked in the laundry.
Mrs. Hutchins is survived by her husband, James; son Gerald (Linda) Mack Sr of Lapeer; daughter, Joan (Joe) Vanderlip of Lapeer; granddaughter, Kimberly (Jeremy) Pringle of Almont; grandson, Gerald (Sonya) Mack Jr of Imlay City; three great grandchildren, Zachary, Amber, and Chelsee; three great great grandchildren, Tristain, Isabella, and Isaac; sister, Marion Mack ; brother, Johnny Schwerin; sister in law, Sheila Ragatz; brother in law, George Mack.
She was preceded in death by both parents, Bertha and John; husband, Harold; son Harold Jr; sisters, Annabell Connor, Lillian Fenslau and Helen Hagemaster; brothers, Clarence Schwerin, Ralph Schwerin, Melvin Schwerin, and Walter Schwerin.
Funeral services were held Sat, Jun 3, 2017 at High’s Chapel, McMinnville, TN with burial at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.
