Madalene Elnor Aldridge, 93, of Fife Lake died peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 2, 2004, at the Kalkaska Long Term Care Center, with Beth at her side. Madalene was born in Duluth, Minn. On Nov. 30, 1911, the daughter of Frank and Lenore (Hoffman) Cummings. She married Wayne Aldridge of Dec. 4, 1937, in Detroit. He preceded her in death.
Madalene taught in several northern Michigan schools, retiring from Kalkaska High School. She loved bowling, and was a member of Rebekak’s of Fife Lake, the Fife Lake Woman’s Club and the Fife Lake Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Beth (Carl) LaBonte; daughter-in-law, Mary (Lary) Schild; sister, Lois Anderson; many nieces and nephews; grandchildren Lou Ransom, Kim (Aaron) Brock Terri Dunn (Pete Lucas), Todd Ransom, Lonni Rogers (Corey Kroesing), Becky Aldridge (Dave Gildea) and Michael Aldridge (Amanda Ryan); five great granddaughters; three great-grandsons; and six great-great-granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne; son, Michael; daughter Gail; three great grandsons; one great-great grandson; one brothter; and one sister.
Visitation was held at Covell-Smith Funeral Home in Kingsley.
A funeral service was held Sunday, Dec. 5, at Covell-Smith Funeral Home, with Jeff Badgero officiating. Burial was the Springfield Township Cemetery.
