Mrs. Isaac VanSkyhawk, 93 years old, died at 9:15am Friday morning at Parkview Hospital in Plymouth, after an illness of several days of pneumonia. She was taken to the hospital Tue for care and treatment. Mrs. VanSkyhawk’s maiden name was Lydia Lanning. She was the daughter of Joseph and Nancy Lanning and was born in Blackford County, IN, Oct 11, 1855. In 1870, she was married to Isaac VanSkyhawk, who preceded her in death. Surviving relatives are one son, Jesse VanSkyhawk of Bremen; one granddaughter, Mrs. Wilbur J. Dunnuck of South Bend; one grandson, Merle VanSkyhawk of South Bend; and one nephew, Harold O. Books of Mishawaka.
Funeral services were held Sun afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Huff Funeral home in Bremen. Rev. E.C. Redenbach, pastor of Grace United Brethren Church officiated in the service and burial was in the Bremen Cemetery.
