Mrs. Luella Dietrich (Willey) Ling, 95, died Feb 23, 1994 at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center.
She was born Jan 10, 1899 in Mammoth Spring, AR, the daughter of Charles and Louise (Dietrich) Willey.
Luella's early years were spent at Battle Creek and on Mar 19, 1921, she married John George Ling, who died in 1953 at White Cloud, where they owned a large turkey farm. In 1985, Luella was honored by the town of Durand, County Shiawassee and Michigan's Governor Blanchard for her participation in the Older Worker Program and being one of the two oldest citizens who was still working in Michigan She worked 20 hours a week until 1988 and at the age of 94 years of age, she still kept her hands busy crocheting.
She is survived by one daughter, Margaret Hall of Tampa, FL and one son, John (Vinetta) Ling of Kalkaska; three grandsons, Fred (Mary Lou) Hall of Fenton, John (Vickie) Ling of Lawton, and James Ling of Kalkaska; four granddaughters, Janet Putt of Durand, Wendy (Don) Mapes of Alanson, Vickie (Paul) Boyer of Moore, OK, and Annie (Rick) Isley of Hesperia. Luella also leaves 17 great grandchildren, 18 great great grandchildren, and many nephews, nieces and friends.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, a great granddaughter, two sisters, three brothers, and a dear sister in law.
A graveside service will take place at White Cloud in the spring.
