Mrs. Luella C. Fichtner, 85, of Kalkaska, died Sat, Dec 2, 1995, at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center.
Mrs. Fichtner moved to Kalkaska County in 1968, from Anchorville. She enjoyed ceramics, and was a member of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church.
Born in Manessen, PA on Jul 4, 1910, she was the daughter of Louis and Ellen Rainey LaVelle. On Jul 20, 1935, in Detroit, she was united in marriage with Clarence L Fichtner who preceded her in death on Jan 13, 1992.
Surviving are three sons, Gerald Fichtner of Annapolis, MD, John Fichtner of Central Lake and Paul Fichtner of St. Joseph; five daughters, Sister Mary Clare of Springfield, IL, JoAnn Brown of Davison, Loretta Fichtner of Kalkaska. Nancy Justus of Mayfield, and Janet Perron of Munising; one brother, Harry Pence of Miami, FL; and 21 grandchildren.
Two sisters, Elizabeth Kennedy and Helen O'Flynn, preceded him in death.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church. Father Patrick J. Barrett officiated. Burial will be in St. Mary of the Woods Cemetery in the spring.
The Rosary was recited Tuesday at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska.
