Mrs. A.L. Puffer Passed Wed
A beloved matron and daughter of a pioneer family, passed away Wed noon in the death of Mrs. Lucy Puffer of East Boardman. Death climaxed a long illness which had kept the deceased to her bed for a number of months. Even through the trial of long sickness Mrs. Puffer retained her sweet and loveable personality and was a fitting example of Christian womanhood, a spirit of which her life had exemplified throughout.
Less than two years ago her husband passed away and prior to that Mrs. Puffer suffered sorrow in losing two sons in infancy and an adopted son, Lensa Puffer, who died as the result of a lighting plant explosion.
She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Butler, pioneers of Boardman township. Early in womanhood she had affiliated with the East Boardman Methodist Church and had lent her untiring assistance to furthering the work of the church and its societies. She will be remembered as being a leader in singing circles had rendered much assistance with her splendid voice at last rites of those who had passed away.
At this time funeral services have not been definitely set. W.W. Brower of Fife Lake is in charge of arrangements.
Besides her devoted daughter, Mrs. Murial Sieting, who had lived with her mother and had taken care of her through her long illness, William Butler of East Boardman, and a sister, Mrs. Nellie Shurtz of Millington, survive.
