Luceine V (DuCap) Azelton, 81, a lifelong resident of Kalkaska County, died Tue, Oct 24, 2000, at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center.
Luceine was born in Kalkaska County on Sep 4, 1919, the daughter of the late LaRoy and Klara Blomberg Greenman.
She married Joseph DuCap in Kalkaska on Mar 23, 1946. He died on Jul 11, 1981.
On Apr 12, 1985, in Saginaw, she was united in marriage with Tom Azelton, who survives.
Luceine served for many years as the Kalkaska Village Clerk. She was a charter and devoted member of Evergreen Bible Baptist Church and Calvary Baptist Church, and was active in the church missionary fellowship.
She enjoyed sewing, and had served as a 4-H leader.
Besides her husband Tom, she is survived by son David DuCap of Phoenix, AZ; daughter Dorothy (Mark) Drouillard of Ypsilanti; stepsons Ron (Sandy Azelton of Grand Blanc, Carl (Connie) Azelton of Royal Oak, Bob (Ronda) Azelton of Lucas, and Joseph H DuCap of Florida; stepdaughters Sally (Bill) Bird of Marion, Pat (Doug) Hussett of Wyandotte, and Nancy (Steve) Wilson of Conifer, CO; sister Zelma Clark of Kalkaska; two grandchildren, 19 step grandchildren; four great grandchildren; several step great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Stepson Charles (Chuck) DuCap, brothers Karl and Glen (Bud) Greenman, and sister Dorothy Smith, preceded her in death.
Funeral services were Oct 27 at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska; Rev. Dennis Williams officiated. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Kalkaska.
