Loyal "Bud" Cooper passed away on Mar 17, 2006, at his home in Kalkaska, surrounded by his devoted family.
Loyal was a caring, loving friend to all. Born on Jun 29, 1920, in Cadillac, he was the son of the late Leo and Abbie (Lettts) Cooper.
But was a veteran and served our country two years in Germany during WWII in the US Army.
He married Maurine Nelson on Mar 3, 1940, and the were together for 36 years before her passing on Oct 17, 1976. On Jun 16, 1979, Bud married Patricia Plosczynski.
Bud served many years at the Spender Church of Christ as an elder and deacon. He was a member of the Bear Lake Christian Church of Christ, and enjoyed being a greeter and helping at the church's pancake breakfast.
Bud always had a helping hand and a big smile and hug for everyone. He loved the Lord and showed it in so many ways.
His greatest love was every year having a huge garden and sharing the produce with others. He was an avid fisherman, loved hunting, playing cards, reading western's and war novels.
Bud worked at the Kalkaska County Road Commission for 25 years and retired at the age of 62. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of the Grange Association.
He left behind his wife, Patricia, of 26 years; beloved son, Richard Cooper of Kalkaska and Susan Cooper of Mt Morris; stepchildren, Larry Przybylski of Phoenix, AZ, David (Lisa) Przybylski, and Julie Przybylski, both of Eagle, WI; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.
Preceding Bud in death was his first wife, Maurine; sister, Ellen; and brother, Lloyde "Buck".
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will take place Apr 22 at noon at the Bear Lake Christian Church, M-72 and East Bear Lake Rd.
