Louis W. Walter, Sr, 80, of South Boardman, died Tue, May 25, 1993, at Traverse City Community Hospital.
Mr. Walter was raised in Gary< IN, and later farmed in San Pierre, IN. He moved to South Boardman in 1950, where he farmed and worked as a carpenter and superintendent/ foreman until his retirement. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners Local 1461. His hobbies included gardening and reading.
Mr. Walter was born in Gary, IN on Sep 24, 1912, to Edward and Bessie Harris Walter. On Dec 24, 1936, in Chicago, he was united in marriage with Bessie Campbell who preceded him in death on Apr 2. 1990.
Surviving are one son, Louis Walter, Jr. (and his wife, Linda) of South Boardman; three sisters, Edna Pedro, Mamie Joiner, and Len Patterson all of Gary, IN; two granddaughters, Sheelah and Michelle Walter both of South Boardman; and several nieces and nephews.
One sister, Irene McKinney, preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held May 29, 1993, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. E. Dan Johnson, pastor of the Kalkaska Church of Christ, officiated.
Burial was in Garfield Twp. Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
