Louis J Rocque Jr, 82, of Mancelona, passed away Dec 28, 2002, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
He was born Oct 1, 1920, in Detroit, the son of Louis and Narcissus (Pedlar) Rocque Sr.
Louis was a veteran of the US Army serving our country during WWII as a military policeman. He married Rita L Hetrick on Jul 1943, in Mt Vernon, IL.
Louis retired from Chrysler Motors of Detroit in 1982 after 39 years of service. He and Rita moved to Kalkaska in 1982 from Warren. Louis was a member of KAMPS of Kalkaska and the township supervisor of Blue Lake Township for the past 12 years. Louis enjoyed bow hunting, fishing, football, baseball, and model airplanes.
Leaving to mourn Louis is his beloved family including his wife, Rita, of 59 years; children, Davie M Rocque of Port Huron and Renee A Rocque of Dearborn Heights; and his brother, Fredrick (Barbara) Rocque of Naubinway.
Louis was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Jane Rocque in 1976.
A memorial service will be held on Sat, Jan 4, 2003, at 1 pm at the Corner Stone Community Bible Church in Kalkaska.
Memorials may be given in behalf of Louis Rocque Jr to AC Paws or Kalkaska Animal Shelter.
