Loraine Elizabeth Diebel, 95, of Kalkaska, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Sun, Feb 9, 2020.
Mrs. Diebel was born on Oct 15, 1924 in Flint, to the late Herman and Velma (Pangborn) Main. She grew up in Flint and graduated from Flint Northern High School in 1943. She attended Olivet Nazarene College in IL, where she met and then married Donald Wayland. She later married Lyle Diebel on Apr 2, 1964.
Loraine's faith has always been paramount in her life; through the years she attended Bethlehem UMC in Flint, Frankenmuth UMC, Kalkaska UMC, and for the last 20 plus years she attended the Kalkaska Nazarene Church, where she served as the treasurer for most of the time.
Loraine worked as a cost accountant for AC Spark Plug and retired in 1985 after 36 1/2 years, as a group leader. She always thought of others and was a phenomenal organizer; she impacted everyone she met ans will be fondly remembered as having a heart of gold.
She will be deeply missed by her son, Stephen Wayland; step daughter, Susan Diebel; granddaughter, Heather Durham; sisters, Beverly Seyfried and Marialice Ferguson; sisters in law, Betty and Leverne Main; and 16 nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lyle Diebel; brothers, Leslie, Robert (Kathleen) and George Main; brothers in law, Edward Robert Ferguson Jr and Phillip "Dave" Seyfried.
Visitation will begin Tue, Feb 11 from 4 to 7 pm, continuing on Wed, Feb 12, from 2 to 8 pm, all at Kalkaska Funeral Home, with final visitation beginning at 10 am. Pastor Bryan McInerney will officiate the service. Burial services will take place at 11 am on Fri, Feb 14, at Evergreen Cemetery, in Grand Blanc.
