Lonnie "Sly" Kleeman, 61, of South Boardman, passed away on Sat, Jun 10, 2006, at Tendercare Nursing Home in Traverse City.
Born on Aug 7, 1944, in Mancelona, the son of the late Norval and Elizabeth (DeVerney) Kleeman.
Lonnie married Roberta Hall on Jul 6, 1963 in Kalkaska. He was a lifelong resident of Kalkaska County.
He loved to play the guitar and sing with family and friends, was a great story teller, and performed many trades throughout his life among which were mechanic, welder, truck driver, and worked in the lumber yard.
Lonnie was the previous owner of Kleeman Auto Salvage in South Boardman. In later yeas, his greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving Lonnie is his wife, Roberta, of 42 years; his children, Jeff (Sandra) Kleeman and Mary Kaye (Daniel) Cunningham (Ricketts), all of South Boardman; grandchildren, Allen, Corey, John, Sean, Samantha, Paidge, Solana, and Jeremiah; siblings, Rose Marie Shine of Edmore, Betty (Kenneth) VanPatten of Antioch, IL, Mary Lou (Andy) Zelenak of Central Lake, Kenny (Denise) Kleeman of Mancelona, Robert (Vickie) Kleeman of Mancelona, Bonnie (Bob) Watrous of Bellaire, Linda (George) Coon of Mancelona, and Norval Kleeman of Mancelona.
Preceding Lonnie in death were his parents; his children, Jacquelynne Anne Kleeman, Sherry Sue Kleeman, and Rhonda Lee Kleeman-Sullivan; his siblings, Sonny Kleeman, Jim Kleeman, Teddy Kleeman, and Sharon Lee Kleeman.
Visitation will be on Thu, Jun 15, from 5 to 9 pm at the Wolfe-O'Neill Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Additional visitation will be on Friday, Jun 16 from 5 to 9 pm at the funeral homne.
The funeral service will be on Sat, Jun 17 at 1 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Kimberland Hough officiating.
Burial will be at Coldsprings Township Cemetery.
