Lloyd E. Johnson, 79, of South Boardman, died Fri, May 7, 1993, at Tendercare of Traverse City.
Mr. Johnson lived in Kalkaska County for many years, and was employed by the Penn Central Railroad. In 1960, he moved to Indiana, and from there to Canton, Ohio in 1969. He returned to South Boardman following his retirement from the railroad in 1974. He was a former member of the South Boardman School Board. He was a member of the Eagles Club in Logansport, IN and the Boardman Area Senior Citizens Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing cards.
Born in Kalkaska County on Apr 17, 1914, he was the son of Herman and Mamie Knowles Johnson. On Aug 31, 1937, in Kalkaska, he was united in marriage with Christina Jane Petty who survives.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Larry Johnson of Rapid City and Gary Johnson of Logansport, IN; two daughters, Patricia O'Keefe of Saginaw and Norma Helbig of Medesto, CA; one sister, Lura Poll of Wyoming, MI; one brother in law, Keith Petty of South Boardman; 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Three brothers, Chalmer, Austin, and Ray Johnson; and four sisters, Hazel Hall, Helma Anderson, bertine Campbell, and Louise Honeyford preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held Mon, May 10, 1993, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Rev. Paul Karges, pastor of the Peoples Church, officiated. Burial was in Lodi Cemetery, Kalkaska County.
