Lloyd C. Martin, 73, of Kalkaska, died Fri evening, Feb 12, 1993 at Munson Medical Center.
Mr. Martin lived in Grosse Pointe Park until eight years ago when he moved to Kalkaska. Prior to his retirement in 1981, he was employed as a printer at the Detroit News.
At the time of his death he was the manager at the Kalkaska and Westside Apartments. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII, and was a member of Land O Lakes Post 8684 in Kalkaska and the American Legion in Traverse City.
Mr. Martin was born in Detroit on Feb 8, 1920 to Frank and Mary Mayes Martin. He was married on May 1946, to Theresa Joseph who preceded him in death on Jul 18, 1972.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, Roy Martin, and one sister, Dianne Broniak.
Surviving are one son, Gary Martin of Avoca; four daughters, JoAnne Conlan of Saginaw, Dianne Massu of Davison, Debra King of Grosse Pointe Park, and Terri Saad of Ft Worth, TX; a dear friend, Connie Teachout of Kalkaska; 14 grandchildren; and one great granddaughter.
Funeral services were held Sun, Feb 14, 1993, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska.
Father Patrick J Barrett, pastor of St Mary of the Woods Catholic Church, officiated.
Cremation followed funeral services.
Military rites were conducted by Land O'Lakes V.F.W. Post 8684.
