Linda Lou Goodney, 78, of Traverse City, passed away Jan 28, 2020.
She was the daughter of the late Milton and Ethel (Oswald) Presler, born in Alma on Sep 29, 1941.
Linda had many passions in her life: her love for her Lord, her love for her family and especially in the later years her love for her great granddaughter. She had a keen eye for style, and enjoyed shopping and spoiling her family with gifts.
Linda lived in the Traverse City area for 45 years. Up until its closing, Linda was a bookkeeper for the Traverse City State Hospital.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church, as well as a very involved grandma for her four grandchildren. She was the strength of the family, a real angel. She loved music, mostly Glen Campbell, and was the media and active socialite for anyone that would listen to her news report. She read local papers daily to glean any information that she could extend.
Linda is survived and missed dearly by her husband of 58 years, Donald; her daughters, Demarie Jones and Debra (Mark Duffie) Goodney; and her grandchildren, Taryn (Russell) Carew, Mackenzie (Haley) Jones, Zachary Goodney, and Patrick Goodney. She is also survived by her great granddaughter, Maeve Carew; along with her brothers, Gary (Nancy Walsh) and Richard (Grace); her sister, Connie (Gordon) Mosley; five nieces and four nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her son in law, Peter Jones.
The family would like to thank the staff at Orchard Creek Senior Living and Health Care for caring for Linda in her final months.
A funeral service celebrating Linda's life will take place at 2 pm Sat, Feb 1, 2020, at Reynolds Jonkhoff Funeral Home, with visitation from 1 pm until the time of the service. Pastor Jeff Goodwin will officiate.
