Linda Fay Silvers, of Rockford, formally of Belmont, age 75, passed away Sat, Jul 13, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was born Jul 28, 1943 in Grand Rapids to Lawrence and Mary (Smith) Schumaker.
Linda was a proud graduate of Grand Rapids Community College. She worked for West Michigan Shared Hospital Laundry for thirty plus years. Linda was a master at her craft of crochet. She could create amazing projects from only a picture. Most recently she completed an afghan and table runner for her granddaughters upcoming wedding.
She is survived by her children, Margie (Greg Matulaitis) Nielsen, Douglas (Wendy) Silvers, Mary (Jerry Kelley) Maksymowski; grandchildren, Felicia, Ashley, Autumn, Jacqueline, Jenna, Drew, Hailey, Maggie; six great grandchildren with two on the way; brothers and sisters, Harlen (Kay) Schumaker, Janice Wilson, Karen Coger, Donald (Becky) Schumaker, William Schumaker; and many nieces and nephews.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Tyrone (Tony) Silvers in 1972; parents; and dear sister, Gloria Shepard. We will miss her love and support but our hope is that she’s reunited with Tony and without pain, enjoying a new body.
There will be a memorial service for Linda at 5pm Thu, Jul 18, 2019 at Pederson Funeral Home, 127 N Monroe St, Rockford, MI 49341. There will be a time of visitation with the family one hour prior to the service.
