LInda Ann Peterson Goldberg went to be with our Lord peacefully and with dignity at her home in Naples, FL on Fri, Jan 17, 2020 at the age of 79.
Linda was the daughter of the late Al and Betty (Dunning) Sommer and was preceded in death by her baby sister, Pamela; her brother, Steven; and late husband, David Goldberg. In addition, she would undoubtedly want us to mention her beloved grandmother, Hazel Dunning (GG, to the great grandsons).
She was a lifelong resident of Michigan and South Florida.
Linda was born in Battle Creek and lived through her high school years on Gull Lake and attended Michigan State University, where she was a proud member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority.
In her married years (Timothy D Peterson), Linda lived in Jackson, Cadillac, and Traverse City, followed by Chicago and Naples (with David Goldberg).
Linda was the owner of Vacation Travel Service in Cadillac for over 30 years and loved cross country skiing in her early years in Cadillac with husband and friends in northern Michigan. She loved and treasured her sons and their families more than life, walking the beach, golfing, tennis, reading, needlepoint, spending time with her many incredible friends, her Le Ciel party gang, and was active in her churches, especially Emmanuel Lutheran in Naples.
Words alone will not relieve the heartbreak and loss of our beloved mother, grandmother and friend. We cannot possibly express or explain the incredible, beautiful, strong, loving soul she was to all those lives she touched. Our loss is forever, until we are together again for eternity with Mom in heaven.
Linda is survived by her loving family - former husband, Timothy David Peterson; sons, Timothy Scott, Matthew Steven (Karin), and Gary David (Bernadette). Also surviving are her loving grandchildren, Sommer Courtney (Peterson) Hood, Justin Mitchell Peterson, Jamie Nicolette Peterson, and Steven Albert Peterson.
A viewing will be held on Wed, Feb 12, at Fuller Funeral Home at 1625 Pine Ridge Rd, in Naples, FL from 5 to 7 pm. OUr funeral service for Linda will be held on Thu, Feb 13 at 11 am at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 777 Mooring Line Dr, Naples, FL, with a reception to follow at 1 pm at Royal Poinciana Country Club.
