Lillian R. Hansen, 81, of Mancelona died Thu, Mar 27, 1997, at Munson Medical Center, Traverse City.
She was born on May 8, 1915, in Mancelona, the daughter of Andrew and Gertrude (Abbott) Bailey. On Aug 6, 1960, in Coldwater, she married Richard J. Hansen. he died On Oct 7, 1992.
She was a life-long resident of Mancelona. Lillian had worked for many earlier years at Avery's Restaurant and the former Bell's Bar, now the site of the Hole in the Wall restaurant, both in Mancelona. She was a member of the Mancelona Moose Lodge. Lillian enjoyed dancing and spending time at the Mancelona Senior Center. She loved crocheting and making all kinds of crafts. She also enjoyed organizing and attending her Mancelona High School class reunions.
She is survived by son Kenton "Butch" (Bernadette) Stradinger of Mancelona; daughters Peggy (Merle) Root of Kalkaska, Ardis (Jerry) Councilor of Traverse City, Ann (Jesse) Root of Gaylord, and Kay (Michael) Biehl of Mancelona; 15 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; brother Robert (Bernice) Bailey of St. Helen; sister Lola Bailey of Kalkaska; and numerous nieces and nephews. Lillian was also preceded in death by daughter Beverly Ann DeWent in 1976; granddaughter Cheryl Root in 1984; three brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services were held Mar 31 at the Mancelona Missionary Church. Pastor Mike McGlynn officiated. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Mancelona.
Arrangements were handled by Paullin-Penzien Funeral Home, Mancelona. Memorials may be given to donor's choice.
