Leslie Longyear, 33, Cato R.D., died in Auburn Memorial Hospital, Wed morning shortly after he had been struck in the head by a piece of steel which he was handling on the yard of the US Hoffman Co. in York St, Auburn, where he was employed. The accident occurred at 8:15 am, soon after he had begun the day’s work.
Mr. Longyear lived south of Victory on Victory Conquest main highway. He had spent most of his lifetime in the Cato and Victory area.
Surviving are his wife, Mary E.; two daughters, Virginia 11, Diane 8 months; three sons, twins, Stanley and Stephen 9, and Michael one and a half years; five step daughters; his mother, Mrs. Mary Longyear of Auburn; brother, Winfred; sister, Mrs. Harold Morris, Moravia; grandmother, Mrs. Nellie Hare of Auburn.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30pm Sat in the Mott Funeral Home in Cato.
