LeRoy Beardslee, age 69, of Edmore, MI died Saturday, March 28, 2009 at Sheridan Community Hospital in Sheridan, MI. Funeral Services will be held at Faith United Methodist Church in Edmore, MI on Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at 11:00 A.M., Pastor Susan Poynter & Pastor Connie Bongard will officiate. Burial will take place at Vinewood Cemetery in Edmore, MI. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 30, 2009 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. at Faith United Methodist Church in Edmore, MI. LeRoy was born in Flint, Michigan on June 20, 1939, the son of Owen C. and Eileen (Schultz) Beardslee. He graduated from Edmore High School with the class of 1958 and was a lifelong resident of Edmore. LeRoy married Linda Maxfield on July 7, 1961 at the Edmore Church of God. LeRoy retired from Hitachi after 35 years of service and also owned and operated Beardslees Restaurant in Edmore with his wife Linda for the past 24 years. He was a past member of the Home Twp. Fire Dept. LeRoy enjoyed hunting, and coffee with his friends at the restaurant. In the past, he coached little league baseball for many years and was also a member of the Edmore Masonic Lodge. He also loved all kinds of animals, snow plowing, mowing grass, and especially spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Linda Beardslee of Edmore, MI, son Bill and Kelly Beardslee of Vestaburg, MI, daughter LeAnn Beardslee and Bill Rogers of Edmore, MI, son Bob and Kim Beardslee of Edmore, MI, mother Eileen Beardslee of Edmore, MI, 9 grandchildren; Heather Beardslee and Gordy Bogart, Rachel Beardslee and Scott Avery, Jennifer Beardslee and Reno Rodreguez, Cody Beardslee, Cruz Beardslee, Jessica Jordan and Justin Pratt, Dalton Rogers, Danielle Benavidez, Brooke and Trent Apple, Matthew Beardslee and Danielle Avery, and Hayley Beardslee, great grandchildren; Mason Bogart, Audrey Avery, Cole, Connor, and Macy Apple. He is also survived by his sister Pat Compton, sister in law Virginia & Jim Beach, sister in law Grace Scheese, Glen & Julie Maxfield, Kati Beardslee. He was preceded in death by his father, and 3 brothers; William, Carl, and Kay Beardslee. Memorials may be made to the Home Township Fire Department, Edmore, Michigan.
