Mrs. Leone E. Fanning, 85, of Magalia, CA, died Thu, Mar 2, 1995, at Cypress Acres Intermediate Care Facility in Paradise, CA.
Mrs. Fanning moved to Kalkaska County in 1978, from Mt. Clemens where she had resided for 36 years. She moved to Magalia from Kalkaska in 1991 to make her home with her daughter and son in law, Lynne and Bob Swift, and granddaughter, Erin Reid.
Born in Cheboygan on Mar 31, 1909, she was the daughter of Michael and Sarah O'Reilly Sapp. On Nov 27, 1929, in Toledo, OH, she was united in marriage with Herbert K fanning who preceded her in death on Jan 1, 1979.
Surviving are three sons, Herbert K (Wilma) Fanning of Galeta, CA, Clifford S. (Judith) Fanning of Kalkaska, and John R. Fanning of Sterling Heights; two daughters, Suzanne Caderette of Springdale, AK, and Mrs. Robert (Lynne) Swift of Magalia, CA; 20 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren.
Three brothers, Lawrence, Arthur, and Alva Roberts and five sisters ,Irene Pratt, Marguerite Maples, Marvel Stabile, Maude Fuller, and Ida Lewis; one grandson; and two great grandsons preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Thu, Mar 9, 1995, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Kalkaska. Father Patrick J Barrett, pastor of St. Mary of St. Mary of the Woods Catholic Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Kalkaska.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 6pm Wednesday and 10 am until service time on Thursday.
